Let’s Begin By Asking God

O Father God, we come today earnestly seeking You, crying out for Your wisdom, believing You will open our eyes and ears, and grant us the understanding we need. May we put into practice what You teach us. Thank you.

We have LOOKED at faith.

Do you remember what true faith means?

Do the 3C’s ring a bell?

 (Conviction, Commitment, Conduct)

Oh, we need to get what true faith is under our belts, because faith is so much more than an intellectual assent.

Truth Explains Truth About

Faith and Asking in Faith

CR-Cross References-Word Search Tutorial >

When you open a Cross Reference, don’t just read it,

Learn to THINK and REASON, by asking the 5W’s and H questions.

1. We have seen this, but let’s look at it again.

How does Hebrews explain faith?

Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. (Heb 11:1)

LISTEN. . .

What is my hope?

What is my conviction?

Respond to God…LIVE it out!

2. According to Hebrews, how critical is faith? What must we believe?

Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. (Heb 11:6)

LISTEN. . .

Do I please God, believing that He is, and rewards those who seek Him?

Or, am I a skeptic, walking in unbelief?

Respond to God…LIVE it out!

3. According to Jeremiah, what must we believe and expect when we call to the Lord?

He will answer, He will show us great and mighty things that we don’t know. (Jer 33:3)

We see: God wants us to call to Him. And we are to expect an answer!

LISTEN. . .

Do I call to Him? If not, why not?

Do I expect an answer when I call to Him?

What has been my latest answer from Him?

Respond to God…LIVE it out!

4. What do you learn about faith from Mark?

Our Jesus said – Have faith in God. Say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and not doubt in your heart, but believe that what you say is going to happen, it will be granted. All things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you. (Mar 11:22-24)

Do you see? It is faith that moves God!

Understand: Faith unleashes God’s power to do His will!

Understand: We must ask according to His will. (1Jo 5:14-15)

LISTEN. . .

Do I ask, not doubting?

Do I ask in faith, believing I will receive from the Lord what I need for the trial?

Do I ask according to His will?

Respond to God…LIVE it out!

5. What is your faith in?

Understand: The object of our faith is God!

LISTEN. . .

Do I have faith in God?

Respond to God…LIVE it out!

6. Let’s consider God, asking and believing!

Do you know and understand God is the Almighty and that He can do ANYTHING? (Gen 18:14)

Do you believe:

God is the God of the IMPOSSIBLE(Luk 18:27)

NOTHING is too difficult for Him(Jer 32:17)

And He can DO FAR MORE ABUNDANTLY beyond all that we ask! (Eph 3:20)

LISTEN. . .

Do I believe God is the God of the impossible?

Or, is my view of God very limited?

Have I asked God for the impossible lately?

Respond to God…LIVE it out!

What Did We LEARN?

Let’s Sum It Up!

We LEARNED:

Faith is a must!

Without faith it is impossible to please God!

Faith is what unleashes God’s power to do His will.

 We LEARNED:

We Must Ask Believing

We must ask, believing, fully assured and convinced God can do anything!

God is the rewarder of those who seek Him.

Whatever the trial, we must believe God will grant us wisdom.

THINK, just some food for thought.

The God we serve does the IMPOSSIBLE!

He enables:
The barren to give forth life.  (Gen 16)

The lame to walk. (Act 3)

The blind to see. (Mar 8)

Just think about how much we who were blind are seeing as God opens our eyes to Truth.

And God brought forth His Son, born of a virgin. (Mat 1:18-25)

Believe!

“The greatest enemy to answered prayer is unbelief.” Warren Wiersbe

That’s It For Today!

Shut out the world, and be quiet before the Lord.

Think deeply about all He has shown you in these verses until these Truths become real in your thinking and belief.

Have a heart to heart with God, He’s waiting!

Record What God Taught You

You can’t remember everything, so highlight key points and details that might otherwise slip your mind.

Then you can go back and review any time.

Turn What You LEARNED into a Prayer

Perhaps. . .

OH FAITHFUL FATHER, thank you for Your Word that is a sure Word. For Truth that is to help us at every turn. My heart’s cry would be that we all have a strong faith. Whatever our trial, may we all have a believing heart. Help each one of us to run to You, asking in faith for Your wisdom. May we come believing with all our hearts that You will give us all that we need in our trials, and You will give to us without reproach. Oh thank you so much that there is no reproach!  Let us know that we know and be ever confident that You are there to give us wisdom for every circumstance that comes our way! May we cast ourselves on You, praying fervently, asking, seeking, and knocking, believing that You will supply and provide generously. May we remember You are producing endurance and making us more like our beloved Savior, Jesus, in whose name we ask these things. Amen!

Don’t you love your time with your Creator? There is nothing else that matters!
