Am I in conflict with others ?

We began LOOKING at the next test, true faith submits to God, by reading just verses 1-5 with a questioning mindset, to slow down and see what God is saying.

Let’s sink our teeth into these verses together.

Open GODcha to the Book of James.

Before We Begin, Let’s Pray

Lord, we come today, asking that You quiet our hearts and help us to concentrate. Help us to hear Your voice and be able to think and reason. Please give us clarity of mind so we will walk away today with more understanding.

Because we just finished Chapter 3,

What might you want to consider before you dig in to Chapter 4?

Remember CONTEXT

Context Rules Interpretation

Context Tutorial>

What is James 4:1-5 sandwiched in between?

How did Chapter 3 end?

What is the result of earthly, natural, and demonic wisdom?

THINK a bit more:

LOOK at, read James 4:1-5.

What does James address in James 4:4?

Do you see the CONTEXT?

These verses are in the CONTEXT of  ‘the world‘.

James wants us to understand there is a danger when a person is a friend of the world.

Now, LOOK at What God Says

Let GODcha guide you in your discovery.

Where will you begin?

READ God’s Word

Read James 4:1-5, again, asking the 5W’s and H.

Engage now>

Remember this is the most vital skill you can learn and develop.

What question does James ask?

How does he answer the question?

What is the danger?

You know,

You all have been doing so well, I think you can do this on your own today.

Why don’t you take a crack at it?

Don’t panic!

Pray, and let the Road Signs in GODcha lead you to implement the skills you are learning in order to LOOK at God’s Word accurately.

It is not hard! It is truly very easy!

Let me get you started.

As you read these verses, what words pop out that are key?

(Remember the #12 LEARN question in GODcha? What are you going to concentrate on?)

Check out at least one of the words you are curious about.

Just tap on the word(s) and check out the meaning in the Dictionary.

If there are others you are interested in, they are just a tap away!

Then take a peek at the Cross References GODcha offers for the word(s) you are investigating.

REASON and THINK by asking questions.

There are a few Cross References.

Check out what you have time for.

Remember there is no rush! Your goal is not to race through a passage, but rather to engage with God, hear Him speak to you!

Is there a Contrast?

Do you recognize the Term of Conclusion in verse 5?

THINK: How does it unlock and shed light on verses 1-4?

Now, you continue in that attitude of prayer.

Remember if you are seeking, God will meet you right where you are at.

Your resident teacher, the Holy Spirit, is right there to help you.

Please make the effort! You can do this!

I will be praying all day for every single one of you. When we meet again, we will see what God taught all of us!

Next: We will meet in a couple of days and zero in on these verses together.
