Humble and Exalt

CR-Cross References-Word Search Tutorial >

Let’s scope out some of the Cross References.

Remember don’t hurry.

Our goal is to engage with the LIVING Godhear Him, and be set free!

LISTEN to God speak and consider how you will LIVE it out!

1. What do you learn from Isaiah?

When Isaiah entered into the presence of the LORD and saw Him in all His holiness, he was humbled and overwhelmed seeing himself and his sinfulness.
He saw what he was, a man of unclean lips. (Isa 6:2-7)

THINK and REASON: Isaiah was a prophet for God, thus a man who was to speak for God. If his lips were unclean, then we know, as we have seen, so was his heart. (Mat 15:18).

LISTEN

Am I comparing myself to others, thinking I am pretty good?

Or,  do I see who God is, and compare myself to Him and His holiness?

Can I see myself, my sin?

Am I willing to humble myself, admit and confess my sin, and let it be taken away and receive forgiveness?

Respond to God…LIVE it out!

2. What does God exult, raise, the humble up to?

a. Everyone who humbles themselves by believing in the Son will have eternal life and be raised up on the last day. (Joh 6:40)

b. Everyone who humbles themselves by believing  in the Son have been buried with Him through baptism into deathso that as Christ was raised from the dead, we have been raised to walk in newness of life. (Rom 6:4)

c. Everyone who humbles themselves by believing

has been made alive together with Christ and

raised up with Him, and

seated with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

thus now blessed with ever spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. (Eph 2:6; 1:3)

NOTE: You might want to take time to read Eph 1:1-14 to see all the spiritual blessings we have in Christ.

d. Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time. (1Pe 5:6)

LISTEN…

Have I a sinner humbled myself before the Lord?

Now raised up together with Christ, how grateful am I for God’s spiritual blessings in the heavenly places in Christ?

Now raised to newness of life, how am I living and walking before the Lord?

Respond to God…LIVE it out!

Remember God has grace, a power, that is greater than our sin.

Understand: God will give His grace to any and all who are willing to humble themselves before Him.

Turn What We LEARNED into a Prayer

Perhaps…

OH, FATHER GOD, YOU WHO ARE HOLY, HOLY, HOLY. Thank you for Your Word these past few days, Your Word that is indeed razor sharp, able to discern the thoughts and intents of our own hearts. Forgive us, oh please forgive us if we are still sinners, separated from You, having no power over the sins that control us, especially pride that You are so opposed to. I pray You are tugging on our hearts! You have told us exactly what to do to humble ourselves and receive Your grace! May we not be just hearers of Your Word, but doers, as James has warned us. May we truly receive Your Word to us in these verses and walk in obedience to these 10 commands! Oh Father, may each one of us be broken over our sins, and be willing to confess them to You. And as we do, may we understand that You will draw near to us, being faithful to Your Word, and cleanse us of  all unrighteousness! May we all desire to do Your will and do all that You require. May we truly humble ourselves in Your holy presence. We ask this in Jesus most holy, matchless name. Amen!

You are doing great! Keep pressing forward!

Next: we will Wrap it Up!
