We will unfold James Chapter 5:13-18, another simple test to prove our faith.

What do you learn from the example of Elijah? (v13-18)
Now, what will you want to concentrate on to help you stay focused?
Let’s LOOK at What God Says
Let GODcha guide us.
Where will you begin?
Begin LOOKING by READING
Let’s read James 5:13-18, asking the 5W’s and H questions.
Try it on your own, then we’ll do together.
How’d you do?
Let’s check these verses out together!
13 Is WHO?
Then he (the one suffering)
He (the cheerful one)
is to sing praises.
14 Is WHO?
Then he (the sick one)
must call for
the elders of the church
they (the elders)
are to pray
over him (the sick one),
him (the sick one)
in the name of the Lord;
WHAT will such a prayer do?
the one who is sick,
him (the sick one) up,
if he (the sick one)
has committed sins,
they (his sins)
will be forgiven him.
16 Therefore, (What’s the therefore there for?)
to one another,
for one another
may be healed.
WHY is this important?
The effective prayer
of a righteous man
can accomplish much.
was a man
with a nature like ours,
(Did you catch the comparison?)
WHAT did he pray?
that it would not rain,
WHAT was the result of his prayer?
it did not rain
on the earth
for three years and six months.
WHAT was the result of his prayer?
the sky poured rain
WHAT was the result of the rain?
the earth produced its fruit.

Turn What We LEARNED into a Prayer
OH FATHER GOD, thank you for the richness of Your Word. Thank you that it is a sure Word. Thank you for opening Your Word up to us and helping us to slow down and read with a purpose to truly see what You are saying to us. Oh Father, as we come to a deeper understanding, would You cement these truths down deep into our hearts. Father, please continue to give us understanding to grasp hold of what we need to do as we search and dig out these precious gems from James. We ask this in Your blessed Name, Christ Jesus, our Lord! Amen!
